Another feature in TeamSustain's track record is the 100 KW gasification system installed at Periyar Mannimmai College of Engineering for Women, Vallam, Tamilnadu , India.

The system generates 100 units of electricity per hour using coir pith briquettes and other locally available waste. The generation cost of electricity from this system is  Rs. 02.70 ( 0.06 US cents), while the existing tariff of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNBE) is Rs. 4.10 ( 0.09 US cents) nit. L The system provides power to the entire college campus without having to resort to the power grid of the Tamil Nadu Electricity Board. This is the first educational institution in India and believed to be the second in the world to be powered entirely using renewable energy.
